Joe most likely has the Viola. His lead playing is basically Eric's along with some of his tone. Joe has his own tone, but it's very similar to Erics and if you aren't listening closely then you might mistake it for Eric's. I don't remember when the SSS blew a fuse or anything, I just remember hearing that it happened sometime in the 90s. I knew the mullet was dominant in the late 80s, he sort of had it on the '88 performance.

I could swear that's the year of procuction. Doesn't say on the DVD version and I can't find the original VHS tape I got, but if it wasn't '90 I'd bet my life it's '91. Note his mullet hairdo typical for the era. Yeah, didn't the SSS blow a tranny in '94 or something? The circuitry kept secret most likely he must have had Dumble help him out. Fullton Webb it was! I don't think Eric liked it much and now Bonamassa has it or one made for Eric.

Total Electric Guitar was made 90, same year as Ah Via Musicom was recorded. Great news the Dumble is on its way back into his rig. I think he has varied his Marshalls quite a bit. A while ago he sold one of his old Marshalls, and in that Musician's Friend vid he has the Plexi reissue and the JH rig. Didn't he have a signature amp made also?

I think the Guitargeek rig was made after this video. This video looks to have been shot in the 80s, because in the early 90s, he doesn't have his mullet anymore. He switched to 50W Marshalls and Fenders when he developed Tinnitus. He has said though he prefers 100W Marshalls and in the 90s he doesn't have his Dumble because it blew a fuse. I don't recall Guitargeek including the Dumble on their rig, and while I know he uses plexi's, I don't think it's those specifically as stated on Guitargeek.

That Guitargeek rig is featured at his homepage so I guess it's pretty accurate at the point in time it was made. His choice of strings are fat bottomed though, so there's one inaccuracy. Could be though, the use of Deluxes was a result of trying to cut back on volume. I can't vouch for the circuitry of those Deluxes, knowing he knows his way around electronics. But you could be right in that the vid is a tad to early for these experiments of his. He recorded the G12-80 but theyre not in the vid

Maybe he was into Deluxes at one point, but if you look at the vid, the top fender is the black control panel, which is on the Twin reissue, along with the blackface model. The bottom Fender is the silverface twin model. I would go as far to say Guitargeek is quite inaccurate. His drummer has even stated that the Guitargeek rig has some inaccuracies in what it says.

Fuzz goes into Tubescreamers into Dumble. I'm sure he can have fed the Plexi with a fuzz too, but that's not his live setup as is used in this vid. Eric is also known to have been using Deluxes. He might have been in and out of them but that doesn't make it a never. Except for the deletion of TS and retiring the Dumble the Guitargeek rig is pretty accurate for reference (mind the clean amps).

Fuzz goes into the Plexi, not the dumble, or it goes into both. He's used the Fuzz in his lead tone with the Plexi before, so it's not suprising if he does it again. The Fender's are '65 Twin Reverbs. He has come out all the time and said he uses Twin Reverbs and doesn't like the sound of the other amps. He still has those specific models in his studio in the harmony central interview. He didn't start using 50W plexis till around '95.

As you can see there's one Silverface and one Blackface Fender. I know for a fact his Deluxes, which he also has a few mind, are one silver and one black. The video being recorded in 90 could however point at the Plexi being a 100W. Oh, and the fuzz goes into the Dumble, not the Plexi.

At this time, pretty sure he was using 100W Plexis and he's always used Fender Twin Reverbs. He is also using his dumble (Beside the Marshall) which is his rhythm tone. His lead tone is the Marshall with either the Tube Driver or the Fuzz. A/B/Y Boxes to change between tones, and he colors them with effects, most notably his echoplex.

Yep, he switches from a Plexi w. G12M25 Greenbacks to Fender amps w. JBL-120s. This being in a relatively small studio, I would guess a 50W Plexi and Fender Deluxes.
